Scouts must have formal leadership training to qualify for troop and patrol leader positions. This training expires after three years. A great next-step/renewal for youth leaders (or first step for those not yet trained) is the Foothills District YLT course offered once per year (Sept. 15th this year, registration deadline Sept. 13th).
