There will be two backpacking preparation information sessions at Monday night’s troop meeting:
- The Buffaloes will be presenting a backpacking program to the Scouts (Fellowship Hall)
- Several experienced T-714 ASMs will be presenting a backpacking program to the adults (Sanctuary)
Both tracks have a primary focus on information for the new backpacker and for those with limited experience. There are two backpacking trips planned as the camping program for November:
- November 7-9: Backpacking “Checkout” (easy, introductory trip) at Pine Mountain Trail (near Columbus)
- November 21-23: “Easy” Backpacking trip (~10-12 miles for the weekend) (location still TBD)
The goal of these presentations is to give everyone information they need to have fun and be successful backpacking with the troop. Be present Monday for this opportunity to learn from these two groups of youth and adult experienced backpackers on how to enjoy one of the unique outdoor opportunities Scouting provides!
