Come to the Family Campout, Court of Honor, and Flour Wars!

This is a reminder that the Troop 714 Family Campout is October 10-12, 2014, at Red Top Mountain State Park.

Saturday will feature Flour Wars beginning at 9:30 AM and the Court of Honor beginning at 6:00 PM.  Please sign up at the Troop Meeting this Monday and provide payment as noted below.

Details:

  • When: October 10-12, 2014
  • Who: All Troop 714 Families. Scouts may attend without family.
  • Where: Red Top Mountain State Park
  • Cost: $20 per campsite/night. Max people per site is 6. Pay troop for campsite fees. Pay parking fees ($5) at Red Top State Park.
  • What To Bring: Camping gear and food (no food provided). Everyone should bring a dessert or snack to share after the Court of Honor.

Events:

Court of Honor: Saturday Night at 6:00 PM at Picnic Pavilion #1 (not at the campsite). Family, friends, and scouts can come just to the Court of Honor on Saturday night without camping.

Flour Wars: Saturday at 9:30 AM.  Scouts will participate in activities that involve lobbing flour bundles (small nylon bundles filled with cooking flour) at each other resulting in small puffs of flour leaving a mark.  Shower facilities are available at the camp ground to clean up before the Court of Honor.

Note: While all family members are encouraged to attend, Scouts may attend without family.  Also, you may choose to camp both Friday and Saturday nights or just one of those nights (specify on the sign-up sheet).  You may also participate in Flour Wars and/or the Court of Honor without camping.

ATTENTION: Attendees are responsible for forming their own cook groups.  We suggest that attendees from each patrol form a cook group.  If a patrol does not have enough attendees to form a cook group, we can make arrangements to have them join another group.  Please obtain any needed equipment from the shed Monday night. Families attending together can also plan meals together as a family, perhaps inviting a Scout or two from your patrol whose parents are not camping.
