Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup

image001The “Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup” is a wonderful community / conservsation service project. The troop for many years had done this at the troop level but recent Camporall timing had created a conflict. This year there’s no conflict but we hadn’t really planned ahead for this.

If you are available and would just like to help with this, or if you need service hours, or if your patrol needs a service project – this is a great way to serve!

Perhaps best of all, after you are done, they host a party for all participants and feed you well !!

Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup

Saturday, September 12, 2015
This annual service project is open to all Packs, Troops and Crews (and Girl Scouts) and is a great community service project.

How it works: It’s in the morning and you sign up for a location.

Bring old shoes, gloves, water (don’t forget the water!) and your Scout Spirit. Although the GLAC usually provides garbage bags, bring some, too. You meet up near where you’ll be cleaning and then you head out to your assigned lake front and pick up the trash.

At noon, they provide music, games and free lunch down from the dam.

So, if you’re not picking up popcorn or in the East Cobber Parade (both on the same day), enjoy the great outdoors with your Scouts and help make the lake beautiful.
