Uniform Closet Information

Troop 714 Uniform Closet

Current Inventory of the Uniform Closet
Contact Mrs. Miller - e-mail to "Uniforms@Troop714.org"

Troop 714 policy is for Scouts to be in full class-A uniform for activities including troop meetings and travel. Consistent with BSA policy, Scoutmaster conferences and Boards of Review must be conducted with the Scout in full uniform and with the current badge of rank and other patches properly worn.

If your son needs uniform renovation, you have a number of choices. New uniform parts are available from the Scout Shop at the Atlanta Area Council, Volunteer Service Center (1800 Circle 75 Parkway, SE, Atlanta, GA 30339, 770.989.8820, MWF 9am-6pm, TuTh 9am-8pm, Sat 10am-4pm). Additionally, you can now purchase online as well as check prices, sizes and styles on the BSA national web site (http://www.scoutstuff.org/) and either make your trip to the Scout Shop easier and more efficient or avoid it all together!

A number of local consignment shops (e.g., Reruns on E. Piedmont at Sandy Plains) sometimes have Boy Scout uniform parts at significant savings over the cost of new items.

Finally, Troop 714 manages a small Uniform Closet. You can check with the Uniform Closet chairperson (Mrs. Pauline Miller) by e-mail (uniforms@troop714.org) for availability of specific items and sizes. Please Note: The purpose of the Uniform Closet is to help each Scout have a complete uniform. If you already have an item (i.e. pants, shirt, etc.) please don’t ask for a spare or duplicate, leave it for someone who doesn’t have any of that item.

If you have extra items you don’t need or that have been outgrown, please donate them to the Uniform Closet. Simply bring those to any troop meeting and we'll recycle them by making them available to our new Scouts and others who need to be properly uniformed. If you see Scout uniform items in your travels, garage sales, consignment sales, please consider purchasing them and donating them to the Uniform Closet!
