Summer Camp – Medications Review / Update

Please remember that all medicines (With the exception of inhalers, Epipens or any medication requiring refrigeration) are due to Mrs. Roberts now.

The deadline is 6/30/14.
  1. Inhalers & Epipens are to be carried on the scout’s or adult’s day pack at all times. Mrs. Roberts will be checking during departure on Sunday July 6th to make sure a scout or adult has them. Refrigerated medications are to be turned in day of departure in cooler container, clearly labeled with your scout’s name.
  2. All medications that you expect to be taken by your scout during summer camp must be listed on the health form.
  3. Any prescription medications must be in a pharmacy bottle, labeled by the pharmacy with prescription number, name of scout, name & strength of medications & directions for use. Your pharmacy can provide you with a labeled empty bottle so you can put only what your scout will need during camp in that bottle.
  4. Any over-the-counter or non-prescription medication must be in it’s original container. You need to provide any measuring cup or a spoon if needed. Please try not to send a whole bottle of medication as Mrs. Roberts has to count every pill you turn in.
  5. Please complete a 3×5 card with the scout’s name and all medications listed with name of medication, dosage, & directions for dispensing to scout. Include all prescription medications (including inhalers, Epipens & refrigerated medications). What is listed on this card must also be on the health form, even if it is an over-the-counter medication. Also, Parent signature & date on bottom of card is required.
  6. All medications are to be placed in an appropriate sized zip lock type baggies, along with the card.
  7. If Mrs. Roberts does not already have your scout’s medications, you will need to bring them to her house (at 4498 Browning Ct. NE Marietta GA 30066) no later than Monday July 30th unless you make other arrangements with her by email: mgparoberts6969@att.net.
  8. If your scout starts on any kind of medication between now and Saturday July 5th that he is to take while at camp, you need to email Mrs. Roberts all the information & make arrangements to have the medication to her house by 9 P.M. on July 5th. Do not plan to drop off medicine at departure as this will cause delays in departure. I appreciate your consideration in this matter.
Your scout’s safety & good health is very important to the Troop and Mrs. Roberts appreciates your adherence with these processes. We will have 2 designated adults in charge of minor First Aid and the dispensing of medication. This system has worked very well for the troop in the past and we expect that it will work well this year as well.

Please let Mrs. Roberts know if you have any questions by email or text (at 6784310296).
