O/A Elections Monday! Members wear your sash!

This Monday at the Troop Meeting Scouts will elect their peers into the Order of the Arrow.  To be eligible for the OA, much less elected by their peers, is an honor for the Scouts.  The OA is an honor society for Scouts that show the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.

 To be eligible, you must:

  • Hold the First Class rank of the Boy Scouts of America, as a minimum.
  • After registration with a troop or team, have experienced 15 days and nights of Boy Scout camping during the two-year period prior to the election. The 15 days and nights must include one, but no more than one, long-term camp consisting of six consecutive days and five nights of resident camping, approved and under the auspices and standards of the Boy Scouts of America. The balance of the camping must be overnight, weekend, or other short-term camps.
  • Receive votes of at least 51% of the Scouts in attendance at the election and there must be a Troop quorum of at least 50% of the registered Scouts.

Because of the voting criteria, it is critical that you attend the meeting on Monday.  Without a quorum of Scouts, we can’t hold the election.  Please be sure to attend the meeting so that the Scouts who have worked hard and been actively engaged have this opportunity.
