Summer Camp 2012 Information from Mrs. Peavy

It may be winter and rather cold outside but it is time to plan for summer camp.  Troop 714 is going to Woodruff July 8th – 14th.  There are 50 merit badges offered.  For high schoolers there are two adventure programs – Ultimate Zone and Whitewater Challenge.  Ulimate Zone is a week long program including activities such as: rafting, backpacking, horseback riding, rock climbing, rappelling swimming and mountain biking.  Whitewater Challenge is 5 days of rafting activities that include rafting, canoeing and kayaking.  (Participants must have earned the Swimming MB prior to camp to take part in the Whitewater Challenge program.)

The cost per scout is $280 which includes either a whitewater rafting trip or a horseback riding trip.  Many merit badges have no additional fees for supplies.

Right now we need to know which scouts plan to attend summer camp.  Please let Mrs. Peavy know this month (ideally at the next meeting) if you plan to attend.

The payment breakdown is:
$75 due January 16th
$75 due February 20th
$75 due March 19th
Remainder due June 4th
Checks are made payable to Troop 714.

NOTE = New health forms are required for summer camp.  Forms can be found on the troop website by going to Resources and Scouting Forms.  Medical forms are due to Mrs. Roberts by the summer camping meeting on June 4th.
