BSA facts and resources: Family Scouting changes

Troop 714 Families and Volunteers –

Last week the Boy Scouts of America announced that starting next year, girls will be joining the organization. By now, this is likely not “news” to you or others in T-714.  Atlanta Area Council is working to provide more information to answer questions that you might have, below are links to resources that answer the majority of these questions.

One note at the Boy Scout level (Troop 714): Any membership changes will not become effective until 2019. The immediate effects of the changes below (2018) are in the Cub Scout program. We’ll share more information as it becomes available regarding the other Scouting programs. Venturing and a number of other Scouting programs have long been coeducational and so BSA has effective and proven models and experience to guide this transformation to the other Boy Scout programs.
